There are a number of ways to clear cloudy pool water chemically, but do you really want more chemicals in your pool than necessary? Have your water tested or obtain a quality test kit. A bad kit can cost you a lot more in unneeded chemicals, not to mention frustration. Make sure that your alkalinity is in line because it is a very common cause of cloudy pool water.

If all levels look to be in line:

    Flocculants:
In many cases, if your pool readings are good, cloudy water is due to a concentration of particles too small for your filter to collect. Flocculants cause the particles to clump together and sink to the bottom. The settled debris is then "vacuumed to waste". There are a number of careful steps required to get to the finish line and it is likely to take a number of days.

    Clarifiers:
Clarifiers work in a similar way in cloudy pool water, except the clumped particles do not settle and due to the increased size of the "clumps" they are caught by your filter. You may need to backwash multiple times during the process.

    How an Aquabag is different:
The Aquabag PURE micro filters cloudy pool water without the assistance of chemicals. It utilizes an industrial grade filter fabric to catch particles of a smaller diameter than even the best pool filter! This can be up to 30 times smaller. Once the Aquabag Pure collects enough debris to need cleaning, rinsing only requires a few gallons of water, reducing water waste.

The Aquabag pure eliminates the top cause of cloudy water: Particulates.
Algae, Algae Spores, Silt, Sand, DE Powder, Bacteria and other fine debris is permanently removed from your pool.

If your pool was green with algae and has been shocked, the remaining algae hulls will remain. The Aquabag PURE can clear it. Just be aware that the bag will have to be regularly monitored for firmness (clogged) and washed out as necessary.

Once your water is no longer cloudy (in many cases just 24 hours), the Aquabag Pure can be connected a few days a week to maintain exceptional clarity and reduce the possibility of a future algae bloom or cloudy water condition.
